Senior Vice President, Private Banking
DeAnne Carlson began her banking career 37 years ago in Tulsa, OK (after finishing in the top five percent of her class at the Arkansas School of Banking). She later moved to Panama City, FL and joined the Summit Bank team in 2008.
Carlson's primary responsibilities include business development and managing Summit Bank's largest private banking portfolio.
What has made her career fun, is the development of long-term relationships with her clients — clients who know they can depend on her for one of the most important aspects of their lives: their financial wellbeing. Knowing a client's financial health affects the whole of their lives, Carlson finds it a joy to help people achieve their goals.
Prior to serving at Summit Bank, Carlson worked for a regional bank where she held senior roles in lending and was top producer of residential lending for 20 consecutive years.
She is a graduate of Leadership Bay through the Bay County Chamber of Commerce and serves as a member of the Leadership Bay steering committee and the education committee.
Carlson has served on the board of Children's Home Society, Girls, Inc., and, most recently, as treasurer for the Science and Discovery Center. She has been named in the Who's Who in the National Association of Professional Women and served as President of the Arkansas State Chapter. She also was President of the Arkansas Mortgage Bankers Association.
A little known fact about Carlson, she has been a bit of a daredevil, and adventure-seeker. Years ago you could find her sky diving, sailing, deep sea fishing or doing anything outdoors. She has a great love of horses, and while growing up in Oklahoma, competed in barrel racing.
Carlson considers herself blessed with two young grandsons, whom she pampers. She has traded in her parachute since becoming a "Nana," and now her hobby is planning her next visit with her grandchildren. Still on her bucket list is another adventure. Even though she admits to having, "the poorest sense of direction on the planet," Carlson has always wanted to learn to fly airplanes and plans to do so someday.
