Internist, Sports Medicine Specialist, Hospice & Palliative Care Specialist

Steven Donchey, M.D. is a practicing physician in Okaloosa and Walton Counties. He currently serves as Hospitalist for North Okaloosa Medical Center, Crestview, FL. Dr. Donchey has also practiced sports medicine at Bluewater Orthopedics in Niceville, FL, for over two decades, and on a part time basis, he serves as Hospitalist for Sacred Heart on the Emerald Coast.

His certifications include Diplomate American Board of Internal Medicine, as well as board certification in Sports Medicine and Hospice & Palliative Care.

Dr. Donchey has been the Medical Director of Emerald Coast Nursing Home Fort Walton Beach, FL for 18 years, the Director of Emerald Coast Hospice Care for Okaloosa and Walton counties for 8 years. He also serves as the Rehab Director for Grand Boulevard and Silver Crest Skilled Nursing facilities.

Dr. Donchey served his residency at Seton Hall University and attended medical school at Ross University of Medicine, Dominica, West Indies. He attended college at Palm Beach Atlantic College, West Palm Beach, FL, and Orange County Community College in Middletown, N.Y. He is originally from New York City.

Dr. Donchey was elected as a fellow of the American College of Physicians, and is a member of the American Medical Association, and the American College of Sports Medicine.

He has served as team physician for several northwest Florida College and high school sports team. Dr. Donchey also served a medical mission through Mission to the World in Patchakan, Belize in Central America.

J. Mark Fisher has been a licensed Florida attorney in Northwest Florida since 1985, with a successful practice focused on the field of Estate Planning. He lectures statewide to the public and to Florida Bar Members for their Continuing Legal Education credit, on topics of Estate Planning, Asset Protection, Avoidance of Inheritance Taxes and the use of the Living Revocable Trust.

In 1996, J. Mark Fisher published his first book, Estate Planning for Florida Residents. His second book, published in 2005, Spending Grandma's Inheritance, contains stories about families, inheriting money, control of parents and their assets, and why some children are left out.

J. Mark Fisher teaches classes on Estate Planning at Fort Walton Beach campus of the University of West Florida. He has hosted a weekly radio talk show on estate planning law since 1994. (Wednesdays and Fridays in the Pensacola area on WCOA 1370 AM and WEBY 1330 AM). His practice has offices in Panama City, Pensacola and Fort Walton Beach.

He earned his Juris Doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law (1984), and his B.S. degree in Finance from Florida State University School of Business (1981). He is a graduate of Fort Walton Beach High School.

Mitch Mongell is the CEO of the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center (FWBMC), a 257-bed acute care hospital. His hands-on approach to leadership is backed by 28-years of healthcare experience in a variety of hospital administrative roles. For the past 17 years Mongell has served in senior administration roles including Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining FWBMC in 2013, Mongell was president and CEO of Colleton Medical Center (CMC), a 131-bed acute care hospital in Walterboro, S.C.

Mongell's vast experience in expanding services and improving access to high quality care was a key factor in CMC's growth over his tenure there. The community benefitted from development of unique programs such as the Advanced Wound Care Center, an inpatient psychiatric stabilization unit, and better access to medical specialists through physician recruitment efforts. Under his leadership the hospital excelled in patient, physician and employee satisfaction and exceeded national benchmarks in core measure outcomes.

Prior to his arrival at FWBMC, Mongell served as the Chairman of the South Carolina Hospital Association's Small and Rural Hospital Committee, Vice Chairman of the Colleton County Economic Alliance, and Secretary of the CMC Board of Trustees.

Mongell earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fla., and a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Services Administration, a Certificate in Communication. Mongell is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He attended West Virginia University and received a Certification in Paramedical Medicine from Allegheny Community College, Pittsburgh, Pa. He is a Diploma Graduate from Sharon General Hospital School of Nursing, Sharon, Pa.

He currently serves on the boards of the United Way, Okaloosa County Economic Development Council, the Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce, and the American Heart Association.


Joseph A. Pedone, MD ImageJoseph A. Pedone, MD
Interventional Cardiologist, FACC, FACP, FSCAI, CCDS

Since 2002, Dr. Pedone has served as Interventional Cardiologist with the Okaloosa Heart and Vascular Center, servicing all Okaloosa County hospitals and four offices in the community. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), American College of Physicians (FACP), and the Society of Angiology and Interventions (FSCAI).

Dr. Pedone completed training for the Transradial Approach for Coronary Angiography and Intervention in June, 2012. In addition, he has completed a six-month fellowship in Nuclear Cardiology and is board-certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Interventional Cardiology and Cardiac Rhythm Device Therapy (CCDS).

Dr. Pedone achieved board certification in cardiology in 1991 following a three-year fellowship training at Ochsner Medical Institution. He practiced Internal Medicine for six years in Covington, La., following completion of his degree from Louisiana State University (LSU).

Dr. Pedone is a graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans, graduating Phi Beta Kappa with honors. He attended St. Paul's high school in Covington, La.

Christian Perry was born and raised in Norwich, CT, moving to the south when he was 16. An outstanding track and cross-county athlete, Perry set records in Connecticut and Alabama before graduating from Southside High School in Gadsden, AL.

Following graduation, Perry was set to accept a college track scholarship but first decided to spend the summer on the Emerald Coast. Perry found himself hooked and has remained in the Destin-Fort Walton Beach ever since. He was fascinated by the development occurring in the area and tried his hand at stucco work, ultimately opening CDP Stucco in 2001.

Perry is active in the community with various charitable organizations and has been a proud part of Billy Bowlegs for six years. His passion is commercial development and building spec houses on 30A. In his spare time, Perry enjoys boating and fishing with his wife and two young daughters.

Freddie Schinz founded TIFORP Development Corporation in 1982. A nationally recognized real estate development firm, TIFORP has conceived, developed, designed and/or built over 50 luxury projects in its 30-year history. As President and CEO, Schniz, a Certified General Contractor himself, oversees administration and operational functions, including budgeting, finance, strategic planning, project development, public relations, marketing, sales construction management and quality assurance on each of his projects.

Schinz grew up in the military and moved around the country with his family before settling in Fort Walton Beach in 1966. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force, serving honorably at Eglin AFB, on active duty until 1974 and with the USAF Reserves until 1978.

Schinz attended the Florida International University School of Engineering and Design where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. After college, he joined Greenhut Construction, working as a project manager before branching out on his own. Since 1974, he has served as President of F.W. Schinz Construction, a respected firm that builds residential and commercial buildings throughout the State of Florida.

Over the last 50 years, Freddie Schinz has put down deep roots in Northwest Florida, running two businesses, raising a family and maintaining active ties to the community. He and his wife, Sharon, currently reside in Shalimar, where they enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren.

Justin Beck is a market-leading commercial real estate professional in Pensacola, and is also a licensed real estate broker in Florida and Alabama. He holds both a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation as well as a Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation. Beck is president of Beck Property Company, LLC, working closely with clients on commercial and investment assignments, and oversees the day-to-day operations and strategic planning of the firm.

Beck is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management. He began his career at Beck Property Company as a sales associate, then as a broker-associate, and in 2009, was named president of the company.

Hotelier And Community Activist

Shirley Cronley, hotelier, community activist, and vice chair of the Escambia County Tourism Development Council, attended the University of Florida and graduated from the University of West Florida with a Bachelor of Science Degree.

Cronley served as the executive director of the Pensacola Sports Association until 2003 and since then has dedicated her time and talents to several boards including Autism of Pensacola, Pace Center for Girls, and West Florida Hospital Women's Advisory Board. She is also an Escambia County Board of Commission appointee of the Tourism Development Council, serving as vice-chairman.

Prior to her work with the Pensacola Sports Association, Cronley had an extensive career in the hospitality industry. Currently, Cronley and her husband, Jim, along with other partners, own several local hotels including The Hampton Inn at the Airport, Homewood Suites, Airport Garden Inn, Marriott Courtyard, and Residence Inn, with a sixth property in development.

Joshua Hackel, M.D., a sports medicine physician, specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and conservative management of musculoskeletal injuries, utilizing the latest medical techniques. He practices in Gulf Breeze at the Andrews Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center and serves as an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Florida State School of Medicine.

Following his residency in 2003 in Family Practice at Columbus Regional Medical Center in Columbus, GA, Dr. Hackel accepted a fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI) in Primary Care Sports Medicine. After completing the fellowship, he was invited to become a member of the Andrews Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Center in Gulf Breeze, Florida.

Dr. Hackel has a multitude of team physician experience in many different sports and recreational arenas. These include team physician for the University of West Florida, Troy University football, Birmingham Barons baseball (AA affiliate of the Chicago White Sox), Birmingham Power of the WNBA, Arena Football's Birmingham Steeldogs, Southeastern Conference (SEC) women's basketball tournament, Mercedes Olympic Marathon, and Medical Director for the Pensacola Marathon.

Dr. Hackel is a member of numerous medical societies including the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, American Medical Association, Florida Medical Association, Escambia County Medical Society, Santa Rosa Medical Society, and the American Academy of Family Practice.

Lisa Ihns has been elected to the Summit Bank, N.A. Advisory Board, which includes influential business and community leaders who share market insights and recommendations with the Bank's officers and directors. Lisa is a Pensacola native and co-owner and general counsel for Avalex Technologies Corporation. She graduated from Florida State University's College of Law and is a member of the State Bar of Georgia.

While living in Atlanta, her practice focused on cases involving product liability, complex mass torts, intellectual property, employment and commercial business. Prior to assuming her position at Avalex, she served as a law clerk to The Honorable M. Casey Rodgers, Chief District Judge of the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Florida. Lisa has been involved with several community organizations including IMPACT 100 Pensacola Bay Area, the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra, the International Baccalaureate Support Foundation, Innovation Coast and Chain Reaction.

Steve Jernigan is a managing partner with Bay Design Associates, a Pensacola-based architectural firm. A graduate of Auburn University, he has practiced in the area for more than 30 years and has been a partner with his current firm since 1992. Licensed to practice architecture in five states, he has been active in professional organizations, serving as president of the Florida chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) in 2009 and presently on the AIA's national board of directors (2012-2014). He was elected to the AIA College of Fellows in 2011 in recognition of his governmental advocacy efforts.

Also active in local organizations, he serves on the Escambia County Housing Finance Authority (immediate past chairman), the NAIOP board of directors (2011 president), Committee for a Sustainable Emerald Coast, and is a graduate of Leadership Pensacola.

James J. Reeves, a real estate attorney and developer, has a long history of involvement in numerous civic and community organizations. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (IHMC), the Pensacola Little Theater and the Downtown Improvement Board. Reeves was appointed by Governors Martinez, Chiles, Bush, Crist, and Scott to serve as the chairman and member of Prison Rehabilitative Industries and Diversified Enterprise, Inc. (P.R.I.D.E.).

Reeves is a Pensacola native and graduate of Pensacola High School who went on to attend Pensacola Junior College and earn his bachelor's degree at Florida State University and later his LL.B. from Stetson University College of Law. He was elected to the Florida House of Representatives (1966-1972) and the Pensacola City Council (1977-1983). He is past president and chairman of the Community Maritime Park Associates, Gulf Breeze Rotary Club, Pensacola Jaycees, and National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP).
